Sebastian Hotz, born in 1996 and raised in Franconia, completed a dual degree in economics in Erlangen/Nuremberg before the twists and turns of the internet led him first to Bielefeld and finally to Berlin. His socially critical and sharp-witted posts on Instagram and Twitter are read daily by 1.5 million people. His debut novel “Mindset” was a bestseller. His new novel “Sidekick” will be published in April.

“Sidekick” is a skillful play on “cult” TV characters and the culture wars of our time — a media satire in the form of a road movie, in which any resemblance to real persons is, of course, purely coincidental.
